Rengeeta Rendava

Founder, Principal Consultant & Managing Director of Mad Hat Asia, and Founder of Kepohchi

Rengeeta is deeply passionate and highly skilled in strategic communications. With 15 years of experience at OgilvyOne Worldwide, Compass Communications and as Head of Ancillary Revenue at AirAsia X, she is currently the principal consultant at Mad Hat PR and Kepohchi.

Graduating from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and International Business Law, she launched her professional career in communications at OgilvyOne Malaysia (digital marketing) and Compass Communications (consumer public relations) where she has worked regionally with dozens of cutting-edge lifestyle brands including the likes of Discovery Network Asia-Pacific (Discovery Travel and Living, Animal Planet, etc.), Red Bull, Adidas, Bertolli, Heineken and Johnnie Walker.

She then joined Asia's first long-haul low-cost carrier AirAsia X' Network Development and Regulatory Team where she conducted extensive strategic research in the areas of route planning and network expansion. Rengeeta was subsequently appointed as the airlines' Head of Ancillary Revenue where she was responsible for over 20% of the rapidly expanding airlines' revenues.

In 2014, Rengeeta departed AirAsia X to establish Mad Hat Asia (then known as Mad Hat Consult), which would grow to be among Malaysia's leading PR and communications agencies, leading communications efforts for the Agency's portfolio of clients including Red Bull, adidas Originals, Maybank, Axiata and Kimberly-Clark.

In 2018, Rengeeta established Kepohchi, to bridge the gap between lifestyle brands and media.
